CBD, THC & More…
Cannabidiol (CBD) and Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) are both naturally occurring chemical compound found in hemp, similar to how caffeine is a natural compound found in coffee. CBD and THC are just two examples, but research suggests there are hundreds of unique cannabinoids present in hemp.
CBD and THC come from the flowers on hemp plants. These cannabinoids (along with hundreds of others) are housed in the sticky white bulbs (trichomes) that cover the flower on hemp plants. After being harvested and cured, these cannabinoids are extracted from the leaf/flowers and used to make products!

Our bodies are equipped with an endocannabinoid system that naturally produces the same non-chemical cannabinoids on a very small scale. As a result, our endocannabinoid system recognizes and responds to outside cannabinoid stimulation from CBD and THC compounds. Some of these responses are immune-regulation, energy level regulation, pain mitigation, and resistance to adverse high-stress scenarios. Integrating a CBD into your wellness regime can help induce a state of homeostasis. While there are no health risks associated with taking CBD, it can cause complications if taken with medications such as blood thinners and sedative narcotics. It is important to consult your medical practitioner before integrating CBD into your daily routine.
Terpenes are naturally occurring chemical compounds that can be found in just about all flowering specimen. Terpenes are abundant in hemp and cannabis. They are what gives each cultivar its unique effects. Terpenes can be relaxing, uplifting, and extremely medicinal.
Seventh Hill strategically uses terpenes to create blends that provide specific effects. Our Rise Blend for example, uses Limonene and Pinene to create our very own custom Sativa experience, while our Unwind Blend uses Linalool and Myrcene for an indica-inspired experience.

This ultimately comes down to the type of hemp derived product you are using and how often you are using it. If you are taking a “full spectrum” product (contains THC) and using this product daily, it is likely that the THC will build up in time and result in a positive drug test. It is important to do your own research and find the CBD product with the right cannabinoid profile for you + your lifestyle.
Seventh Hill’s hemp derived products come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. Here are a few important factors to consider while shopping for an everyday CBD product:
Method of consumption
How do you see yourself consuming your hemp derived cannabinoids? The three main methods are: inhaling through smoke, digesting through an edible, or applying topically. Your method can depend on your desire to be discrete, your bodies ability to inhale smoke, or the kind of ingredients it’s made with.
Potency
Potency depends on cannabinoid content and is a very important part of your hemp experience. If you are looking for an everyday CBD product, you may benefit from a less potent product like a CBD Oil or CBD Caramel. These products have high concentrates of CBD and tend to be light yet effective. If you are looking for a potent edible to take in the evening to help you sleep, an extra potent 2:1 caramel may be helpful. These products have high a concentration of CBD and THC and will have much more pronounced effects.
Overall Effects
The effects of our products is based on terpene content. Seventh Hill’s products can be uplifting (sativa), relaxing (indica) or somewhere riiiiight in the middle (hybrid). Using isolated terpenes, we’ve strategically created our own terpene profiles for specific effects.

A 1:1 edible is more potent because it has balanced parts of CBD and THC. This means that these two cannabinoids are working in complete harmony with one another to engage with as many cell receptors as possible. With a 2:1 (CBD:THC) edible, the CBD outweighs the THC making its effects more pronounced. Since THC is the “psychoactive” cannabinoid, these effects feel less significant and thus, feel less potent.
This is one of our favorite questions because it is SUCH a learning opportunity. The 2018 Farm Bill states that in order for a CBD product to be legally sold, it must contain less than .3% THC by weight. Since our caramels weigh about 14 grams, you could fit quite a bit of THC in there and still be compliant. To give you a better idea, 10mg may sound like a lot, but it’s only about .06%.
All of our products go through a strict screening process before being allowed on our website. If a product wasn’t “legal” we would not have it on here!
