Our 2:1 edibles provide pronounced effects that will leave you thinking clearly and feeling relaxed. Seventh Hill’s 2:1 Caramels help with anxiety, inflammation, and so much more! Here is what makes our 2:1 Caramels so effective.
What is a 2:1 CBD to THC Product?
In short, a 2:1 CBD to Delta 9 THC formula means that there is two times as much CBD as Delta 9 THC. *If CBD and Delta 9 THC are new terms for you, check out this blog first!* Now- this is not some arbitrary ratio; 2:1 edibles have been popular for a very long time due to their potent effects. When CBD and Delta 9 THC are paired together in this proportion, the two cannabinoids compliment each other in a harmonious way offering deep relief without too much “drag”.
Delta 9 THC is the “intoxicating” cannabinoid, it’s a cannabinoid that binds with receptors and sends signals to our body to provide euphoric effects. CBD is a far less aggressive cannabinoid and is believed to strengthen neuroreceptors and bonds rather than create new ones. In a 2:1 CBD:THC edible, there is twice as much CBD as Delta 9 THC which means the psychoactive effects will be less pronounced but the CBD effects will be more enhanced.
Hemp derived Delta 9 THC is completely legal within in the US as long as it doesn’t exceed .3% of its weight. Since our caramels weigh 17 grams, this can actually be quite a bit. We dive more into its legality here if you are interested.
2:1 Caramels at Seventh Hill CBD
Seventh Hill’s 2:1 Caramels were one of the first edibles on the market with high THC content. While many hemp derived companies were afraid to have high THC in their edibles, Seventh Hill knew it was not only necessary, but deeply wanted by the folks already depending on CBD. With time and education, we were able to teach our retail partners and customers how these products were both legal and needed.
Reasons for Choosing a 2:1 Ratio
So, is a 2:1 CBD:THC ratio right for you? Let’s go over what this ratio can offer so that you can decide if you feel it is an appropriate fit for you and your unique needs.
Reason #1: More Enhanced Effects
For folks that use CBD everyday, adding a more potent cannabinoid like Delta 9 THC to the mix can help revive your CBD routine. Natural, hemp-derived Delta 9 THC is a very potent cannabinoid that is going to give products that extra oomph you are looking for. It is important to ease your way into consuming Delta 9 THC due to it’s potent effects. Thanks to the 2:1 ratio, the CBD can provide balance so that you’re not overwhelmed by the effects of the Delta 9 THC. If you have been taking pure/mainly CBD products for a while now, a 2:1 ratio may be just what you need to feel those pronounced effects again.
Reason #2: Taking the “Edge off” of Delta 9 THC
Some people simply do not mix well with Delta 9 THC. Even lifelong cannabis users can grow out consuming pure THC as their lives, responsibilities, and bodies change. On the other hand, those who are brand new to Delta 9 THC may feel a bit nervous when experiencing its psychoactive properties. Delta 9 THC is a vastly different experience than CBD, CBN or even Delta 8 THC. Incorporating CBD into the mix helps “take the edge off” of Delta 9 THCs intoxicating properties. Many describe Delta 9 THC as a head-high, but by adding CBD to the experience as well it can really take that sensation to a whole-body-buzz, while helping you stay clear-minded along the way.
Reason #3: Great for Experienced CBD Users
Seventh Hill recommends a 2:1 ratio to long-time CBD users who doesn’t feel the effects like they used to. It’s natural to build a tolerance slowly after using CBD for an extended period of time. Once that starts to happen with your CBD products, we recommend stepping up to a 2:1 ratio. Since it is still predominantly CBD, the effects of the Delta 9 THC aren’t too potent; but it’s still stronger than straight CBD. A 2:1 ratio allows the body to slowly adjust to the properties of Delta 9 THC.
Reason #4: Synergy in Action
Cannabinoids share a synergistic relationship with one another, in which taking combinations of cannabinoids can boost the bioavailability and effectiveness of each one. This is the science behind the entourage effect that comes from taking a full spectrum hemp product. These products are full spectrum, and the high levels of Delta 9 THC and CBD allow these two cannabinoids to potentially make the properties of each one even more effective than when taken separately.
Reason #5: Change Up Your Canna Routine
If you are a lifelong cannabis user looking to mix up your canna routine, take a tolerance break or just lower your THC consumption, a 2:1 edible is a great way to still feel the familiar effects but at a lower velocity. As our lives and responsibilities change, sometimes other things change as a result, too. If you need to rethink your cann-routine, a 2:1 edible may be just what you need!
