The world asks a lot from women these days, so it is no wonder why so many women report feelings of burnout, stress, anxiety, and sleeping troubles.  The average modern woman is expected to maintain a busy career, a full social calendar, a happy family, a clean home, and numerous relationships in the seemingly unobtainable effort to “have it all”.

As more women show signs of exhaustion and chronic stress, it is important to consider natural and holistic means for maintaining maximum wellness.  There are various ways to attempt to combat the fatigue associated with burnout, and an influx of women today are looking to CBD in an effort to feel more balanced, both mentally and physically.  We will be talking about how women in particular could benefit from a daily hemp routine.

Issues That Affect Women

There is a multitude of issues that affect more women than men, with many of them relating to hormones.  The balance of hormones in the female endocrine system is more delicate than that of men, and this alone can make women more susceptible to a host of issues that affect both their physical and mental health.

#1: PMS

Pre-menstrual syndrome is a very real condition that can interfere with a woman’s wellbeing on a monthly basis.  Throughout the menstrual calendar, hormones like progesterone, estrogen and testosterone fluctuate.  The days leading up to the start of a woman’s period can be extremely difficult due to sudden, drastic changes in these hormones which can cause symptoms including severe pain, headaches, dizziness, fatigue, emotional distress, digestive troubles, brain fog and more.  PMS is more severe if a woman’s hormones are imbalanced, and this type of imbalance can be caused by a number of factors including everything from poor diet to fatigue caused by overwork.

#2: Menopause

Menopause occurs during a woman’s middle age when her body no longer needs to remain fertile.  This can be an extremely difficult time during a woman’s life, as huge changes to her hormonal balance take place that can cause long-term, distressing symptoms including hair loss, fatigue, insomnia, hot flashes, irritability, depression and more.

#3: Anxiety

Anxiety affects more women than men, and while there are all kinds of factors that contribute to this imbalance, a lot of it has to do with hormones.  Female sex hormones play a large role in mood, and if they are imbalanced, a woman can be more prone to anxiety, and will often notice that the severity of the anxiety correlates to her menstrual cycle.

Additionally, more and more women are struggling with anxiety due to a difficulty to maintain a proper work/home balance that leads them feeling burnt out and overstretched.

#4: Sleep Disorders

Sleep disorders are also more common among women than men, which again can stem from hormonal imbalances along with feelings of stress that come from a busy schedule and growing demands from both work and home.

#5: Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia is a condition that is still largely misunderstood, and its exact cause is unknown.  It’s classified as a chronic inflammatory condition that can cause pain in the joints, depression and fatigue.  More women are affected by it than men, and researchers are still trying to understand why this is the case.

#6: Burnout

Burnout is being reported by many women who are wearing themselves down in an effort to maintain a family life and a demanding career.  Burnout can lead to chronic fatigue, hypersensitivity and anxiety as the adrenals become overworked and depleted.

Why Women May Want to Create a Daily CBD Regimen

CBD is the dominant compound found in the hemp plant’s chemical composition.  It has been researched for years for its various properties which may be of particular use to women dealing with the issues described above.  Being a cannabinoid, it works gently in the body to offer its properties by binding to cannabinoid receptors belonging to the endocannabinoid system, which each have the task of regulating a bodily process that’s central to overall healthy functionality.

CBD has been researched for its effects on stress, anxiety, and sleep, and as we have discussed, there are numerous factors that make these issues more common in women.  As a cannabinoid, it helps regulate these processes while playing a role in the organization of neurotransmitters in the brain.

Topical CBD products are becoming immensely popular for pain, and research is showing us that applying cannabidiol directly to the skin can allow its anti-inflammatory properties to reach the affected joint and skin tissue quickly and in a uniquely localized and concentrated manner.

Tips for Using CBD Daily

If you’re a woman who feels like CBD could help, here are some key tips to go about incorporating it into your daily routine.  Keep in mind, that how you take CBD matters tremendously in terms of its overall effectiveness.

Tip #1: Try Topical and Sublingual CBD

We recommend purchasing both a topical CBD formula, like a CBD cream, and a sublingual CBD product in the form of a tincture.  Topicals are great for targeted relief, while sublingual CBD allows the cannabinoid to work its way through each bodily system and may help you feel more relaxed yet motivated.

Tip #2: Take CBD Daily

CBD works best when taken daily, because the cannabinoid becomes more effective when it accumulates in the body.  Therefore, if you do wish to consume or apply a particular hemp-based product, we recommend taking at least one dose per day (sublingual approach) or applying just enough to the area of the body that needs relief (topical approach) for the best results.

Tip #3: Test Your CBD Dosage and Strength

CBD comes in different milligram strengths, determining how many milligrams are in each dose.  Therefore, some products on the market are more potent than others.  It is ideal to choose a milligram strength based on the intensity of your needs.  You can experiment with strengths as time goes on, because you may find that you need a higher-than-average strength due to the unique nature of your body.

Similarly, some people find that one dose is ideal, while others need two doses to feel the full effects that they are seeking out.

Tip #4: Experiment with CBD at Different Times of the Day

You can take CBD at any time of the day.  Taking it in the morning could help you feel more energized, while taking it at night may make you feel calmer when it’s time to go to bed.  Experiment with taking it at different times of the day to see how it interacts with your body depending on when you take it.

Note: If a CBD product is crafted more for nighttime use, as this can depend upon a few factors such as the terpenes and strain that is used in the formula, or if it’s combined with melatonin for instance; then only use it at night.

CBD Might Be Able to Benefit Almost Any Woman’s Routine

Cannabidiol can act as a natural, holistic, and gentle option for women who are trying to experience some form of euphoria.  The best way to take it is to maintain a daily regimen with a high-quality product potent enough to deliver potentially noticeable results.  As you can see, this cannabinoid offers many unique properties that could be particularly useful to younger and older women alike.
